Sunday April 29, 2015, Award Winning New Cavern Productions and I held a Beatles Concert to help raise funds and awareness for the Friedrich's Ataxia Research Alliance. Half of the proceeds benefitted those diagnosed with Friedrich's Ataxia, like my sister Christina.
I was so honored and thrilled to sing Christina's favorite Beatles song, Dear Prudence. Definitely an inspiration for all of those living with FA.
"The sun is up the sky is blue, it's beautiful and so are you."
The best part of this race is not only do you get to cheer me on, but you can enjoy Michelob ULTRA and taunt me by drinking beer in front of me! I mean come on, look at these kick ass, clever signs
It would be great to have the support of my family and friends as I run to raise awareness for Friedrich's Ataxia. I hope to see you all there! If you cannot make it and would still like to make a donation, click here.
Today is #givingtuesday ! First there was Black Friday, then Cyber Monday, and now Giving Tuesday. Started by the UN to celebrate and provide incentives to give to local or national organizations that rely on donations to operate. Please consider making a tax-deductible donation to my sister Christina's foundation FARA, Friedrich's Ataxia Research Alliance. FARA helps provide research and awareness for those diagnosed with Friedrich's Ataxia. Through FARA Christina has become an ambassador to help shed light on this rare disease. Currently there is no treatment or Cure FA.

For those of you who don't know, I am an advocate for my sister's foundation Friedrich's Ataxia Research Alliance, also known as FARA. My 23 year old sister Christina was diagnosed last summer with Friedrich's Ataxia. FA is a neurological disorder that affects a patient's nervous system. Some of her symptoms include slurred speech, difficulty walking, loss of feeling in hands and feet, and sleep deprivation. There is currently no treatment or cure for FA.
Last year my sister and I participated in the 5K Race for Matt and Grace. I am so bummed that I am unable to make it to the event this year due to my work schedule! Matt and his family are wonderful, and they helped me out so much for my race this past May.
I cannot wait for the 2nd Annual Race next year. It was an unbelievable feeling to have over 200 of our friends, families and neighbors there supporting Christina and FA. SAVE THE DATE!!! Mother's Day May 11, 2014 8:30am-Noon at Tyler State Park.
