Song of the Day: Back in Town

I think after all of the fun events that have happened in my life this week, this song sounds the most fitting.

Wherefore Art Thou, Romeo?

What a wonderful weekend! So much friendship, laughs and good times. Bryan and I took a late bus to New York on Friday night. I am getting very proud of myself for mastering the NYC Subway system! For a girl who is used to either the Broad Street or Market, I am starting to get this whole NQR thing down.

Saturday we went to go see Classic Stage Company's production of Romeo and Juliet . The theater was near NYU's campus and held maybe up to 150 people. It was the perfect intimate way to see one of my Shakespeare favorites. I have to say the best performance came from TR Knight! That's right, George from Grey's Anatomy! He played Mercutio in a way I have never seen before and helped me understand the key to his madness. The best part was seeing all of the kids there in the audience. Exposing children to Shakespeare at such a young age made me very happy.

Next after grabbing some yummy New York thin crust pizza, we headed up to Barley and Grain for some friendship and Jordan's birthday. If you are looking for a good whiskey bar on the Upper West Side, I highly recommend this place. They are known for their Bacon Manhattan. It is made with Bacon infused Buffalo Trace, Sweet Vermouth, and bitters. Oof, I couldn't do it. Too strong for me. Those boys are pretty bad ass.

I think the best of the night was having my close friends around me and man friend. It was a nice glimpse into what life would be like if I lived in NYC, having a night out with everyone.

Laur Laur, Man Man, and I.

One thing I really like about Mr. Graber is he can make a bad ass breakfast. The next morning Jordan and I were treated to Eggs, Pancakes, Bacon, Sausage, and I helped make Sweet Potato hash browns. Stupid good.

Bryan's breakfast in progress.

The one event I was looking forward to all weekend was riding the Ferry and taking a trip to the Brooklyn Flea Market. Not only was the weather perfect, but the Flea was so easy to get to via East River Ferry. The Flea market had everything from memorabilia, maps, furniture, vintage clothing, postcards, and more! Not to mention the incredible food trucks there.

However, the best find all weekend was back in Manhattan. We found a pizza place that was named "NY Best place for Cheap Eats" by New York Magazine. $0.99 Cent Fresh Pizza is on 43rd and Lex and has delicious thin crust pizza, and not to mention one of the best deals in NYC!

Yet another wonderful trip to the Big Apple, and I cannot wait to go back for Halloween!

Ne Me Quitte Pas by Nina Simone

Do not leave me now
We must just forget
Yes, we can forget
All that’s flown beyond
Let’s forget the time
The misunderstands
And the wasted time
To find out how
To forget these hours
Which sometimes kill
The blows of why,
A heart full of joy.
Do not leave me now
Do not leave me now
Do not leave me now
Do not leave me now

I offer you
Pearls of rain
Coming from the lands
Where it never rains
I will cross the world
Till after my death
To cover your bosom
With gold and light
I will make a kingdom
where love will be king
Where love will be the law
Where you will be queen
Do not leave me now
Do not leave me now
Do not leave me now
Do not leave me now

Do not leave me now,
Will invent for you
The insane words
That you’ll understand
And I will tell you
Of these lovers who
Were seen twice
With their hearts in blaze
I will say in detail
The story of this king
Dead, from having not
Encountered you.
Do not leave me now
Do not leave me now
Do not leave me now
Do not leave me now

One often recalls
Flames light anew
From an old volcano
Thought to be too old.
It appears that
The scorched fields
Can give more corn
Than the best of springs.
And when evening comes
In this blazing sky
The red and the night
Marry nevermore.
Do not leave me now
Do not leave me now
Do not leave me now
Do not leave me now

Do not leave me now
I will cry no more
I will talk no more
Will hide somehow
Just to look at you
Dance and smile
And to hear you
Sing and then laugh
Let me be for you
The shadow of your shadow
The shadow of your hand
The shadow of your dog
Do not leave me now
Do not leave me now
Do not leave me now
Do not leave me now

Cruton's Philly Wedding

This past weekend my wonderful friend Danielle got married to her fiancee Bradley at the Downtown Club in Philadelphia. This wedding venue was perfect, and Danielle looked gorgeous. I have never seen her happier. :) See some pictures from the night below.

Pumpkin Beer Galore

I am a connoisseur of three things: French Onion Soup, Grilled Cheese, and Pumpkin Beer. So needless to say I was very excited when I saw today's BuzzFeed on Pumpkin Beers:
